Early follow through

I swore to start blogging every day beginning on Monday, but I got the jump on things. I got this new book entitled Air Guitar: Essays on Art & Democracy. Ha. not that I need another book to add to my pile of books I am reading, but I guess I read what catches my interest at the time.
Obviously I am a person run my my feelings. This explains my hesitation, read procrastination, to go out of the house. I don't feel like interacting with the humans. I paint when I feel inspired (well that's going to change) I sketch when I feel the need - it is therapeutic. I read when I have to lay down and give my back a break. I never feel like cleaning the house.
On the painting note. I have been inspired by looking at some of my awesome photos taken while traveling. The one shown here is in Alaska. It is so peaceful......
Currently I am working on a small oil painting of a bird of paradise flower from a picture taken in Hawaii, and another medium sized one of a lone tree on a huge rock in front of the beautiful blue mountains of Alaska. two extremes. I am also working on another smaller painting that I already have a skull on, now adding a rose, but I can't seem to locate the reference picture. I have discovered that I have to work more consistently because the paint dries faster here in Las Vegas. That's some helpful motivation to stay on task.
So one might say besides being run by my feelings that I am scattered, scatterbrain, spaced out whatever. That's how I do. Pictures will be forthcoming. I must flit off to another something.

I have a very specific memory of you painting a picture of Amanda from a photograph of her standing near a stone bridge. You had an easel in the upstairs living room of the aparment building. Made an impression on me and on my desire to be artistic.

Nike can help: "Just do it!" But, whenever I can't find motivation, I just embrace the lazy monster and watch some tv!
