Not sure which I enjoy more, drawing or painting. Drawing is easier as in more convenient to do whenever and where ever. Painting has to be done a a specific place with a set up. I draw when i watch TV or pass time on a plane. I paint when I go into what I call the upper room because it's upstairs. Two desks and a large easel are always full of some work in progress. I can really become engrossed in painting. I love it. I miss meals and avoid interacting with the rest of the world. It becomes my whole universe. To keep track of time I put on a CD; when the CD is over I try to take a break. sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't.
A few days ago I got into this drawing of Mick Jagger. I had trouble with the eyes but still like the finished product....the movement.
One thing I have are self imposed deadlines. I am forcing myself to finish paintings, because I tend to drift away from the initial inspiration and toss a painting aside only to begin another one. If I totally loose inspiration I will paint over it. Drawings, well I just throw them out...but usually finish them......The drawing of Mick took three hours.
