Lots going on

It has been almost a month since I last wrote something...not that I haven't thought about it. I have several things going on right now that are very exciting. Everything seems to culminate after this weekend. I have been working on a 16x20 Guadalupe in oils for the Corner Gallery in Boulder City, that is almost done and due to be turned in on Tuesday (28th) along with a painted skull for auction. In the meantime I decided to enter a contest of sorts by Blue Moon Beer. They are asking for 22x28 paintings that relate to Blue Moon Beer. So I have been working on that here and there. I am using acrylics for that one so that it will be dry in time for the deadline, which was tomorrow but now has been moved up to next Tuesday (28th again). The show will be at the Artisan Hotel on October 1st, which is First Friday here in Vegas.....art night in the art district. The painting is turning out okay, even though it was a challenge because of the size, and the acrylics fast drying which cramps my slow blending style. After that, I got wind of a Zombie Apocalypse looking for paintings of zombies...well that sounded like fun so I jumped in. I used oils on this one, which is completed. the opening is at Blackbird Gallery on Oct. 1st again. After that I heard of a group show called "Face to Face(book)" that was looking for submissions along with a ten dollar fee for the Gallery Studio8Ten...so I hopped into that one as well, since I had a painting almost finished ("color Dancer" 16x20 oils) that just needed a couple of tweaks and a frame. No frame for the zombies, or the Blue Moon ...not sure about Guadalupe. The zombie's are due on Sunday (26th) and the "Color Dancer" is due on Monday (27th)

The most fun thing of all is the opportunity to be a part of Painters on the Patio at the Bar&Bistro at the Art's Factory. I had to prime a canvas ready to paint this Saturday. I have not made 2 cents on all this stuff so far but I feel that I am moving in the right direction and meeting lots of fantastic artsy people and having a lot of fun to boot.

Showing 2 paintings here.....can you tell which is which?
