I have been painting, drawing, using fine point sharpies to create zentangles, sitting at galleries and other such things. Writing a blog on a regular basis is just not part of my routine.
So I will give another whack at it. and show you some of my artwork.

I have been out and about, which is refreshing but at the same time limiting my personal time, for painting and writing. I managed to finish a couple of commissions. I am sharing one of the pictures here. I have also sold a couple of paintings, one was a Dr.Suess fish created for a show several years ago. It is feels great to actually sell my artwork. It's reaffirming, encouraging and of course, the money is nice. My storage area is jammed with paintings so a sale helps clear up a little bit of space as well.

Chinese New Year
These were two pieces I did for Chinese New Year. The round one is for the year of the monkey 2016. Painted in acrylic on a circular piece of wood, the red monkey sits on the moon. This piece sold at Jana's RedRoom. I had two wooden circles but only completed one.
The Dragon is painted in oils on a larger repurposed canvas. Whenever I do paint overs I apply a lot of thick paint. I really like this 16 by 20 piece. It was on display during the month of January and February..... With no takers. It really was fun to paint. I love doing patterns and using bright colors. I was able to utilize my gold paint on this painting as well.

Where does the time go?
Has it been five months since I last posted something? One might think that I have been extremely busy painting and drawing and socializing, when the truth is I have simply forgotten to look at this blog.
I have several paintings in process, progressing slowly, but I have actually finished some things. My latest favorite being part of a series I am doing on Johnny Depp characters, which are usually very colorful. This one is Captain Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean". I loved painting the eyes. The hair and beads were fun as well. I even framed it.

House
I love watching House. Last night's show was about a woman who blogged her feelings and revealed many things about her personal life, like an obsession. It sort of gave me the nudge to get into this blog thing more, since I have a really small world of relationships right now and not much opportunity to express my feelings about anything to anyone. No matter how often I am on Facebook everything seems limited to sound bites, or type bites and it does bite. Another motivation is that in blogging I am obviously the puppetmaster in control of the topic. I am so not into politics, and have grown weary of the naysayers about the terrible state of the world we live in........and there is only so much discussion revolving around the weather. All that said to say....I painted his picture...House. It is an 8 by 10 oil painting. I like it!
At an art show, a man made a bee line toward me and insisted on buying this painting. I was sad to let it go but I guess I could always paint another. Still watching and enjoying reruns of House.
